All-Classes Rankings to Debut This Week

Alexis Perry of Jordan has won MVP honors at both indoor and outdoor states; how will she rank against athletes from all events?

Beginning Tuesday, NCRunners will debut a series of All-Classes Individual Rankings, leading up to the final All-Classes Team Rankings of the 2012 season.  The individual rankings will consider performances from both indoor and outdoor season, using the final winter rankings and the current spring lists as their basis.  Athletes will be given credit for performances that make it into the top 10 of the event-by-event rankings, and will be grouped by similar events, starting with small groups and expanding to bigger categories.  For example, sprinters and hurdlers will be ranked separately at first, then together, then against all track events, and finally with all events included.  At the end of the week, the large-group rankings will culminate in the NCRunners Athletes of the Year, followed by the All-Classes Team Rankings.  Along the way, the public will have their chance to vote on who they think is most deserving of recognition, resulting in a "People's Choice" award in the final individual article.  It should make for an interesting week!
