Senior Spotlight: Josh Crawford

Josh Crawford has a perspective on competitive running that few athletes have.  He started his running career at Fayetteville Christian (and finished fifth in the NCISAA 1A/2A state championship in 2009) before joining perennially-strong South View for his junior year.  It seems to have been the best of both worlds for him: he speaks fondly of his time at the private school, as well as the coach there that introduced him to running, but also speaks favorably of the family atmosphere surrounding his new team.  Josh is soft-spoken off the course but runs confidently on it, using South View's "headhunting" style of somewhat conservative early running followed by strong moves over the last few miles.  Josh is also a bit of an anomaly for a South View team that is far more well-known for cross country than for track, as he ran 4:25 last spring and is the #8 returner in the state in the 1600.  If he and his teammates follow true to form, they wil have their best performance of the year at the state championships.
