Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational, NJ

Highlights

  • In the girls Varsity A race Julie Macedo (Charter School of Wilmington) obliterated the course with a 16:53 clocking to win by 1:03 over North Penn PA's Meghan McGovern.  

 

Passaic County Coaches Invitational, NJ

Highlights

  • US#1 Edward Cheserek (St. Benedict's Prep) made a strong statement that he belongs at the top, as he tore down a CR at Garret Mountain by 22 seconds with his winning effort of 14:53.  Cheserek won the varsity group 3 race by 1:47!
  • In the girls varsity group 3 race Sarah Disanza (High Point) won in 18:48 over Claudia Disomma (Sparta) who ran 18:50.
  • In the girls varsity group 4 race Samantha Jones (Randolph) won with a time of 18:52.  Randolph took the team race as well with only 31 points.

 

Stanford Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Darren Fahy (Sr., La Costa Canyon) shot into the lead at the start and held it thoughout the race finishing in 14:54 over the 5K course.  Cameron Miller (Sr., Stockdale) finished 2nd in 15:09. 
  • Amy Eloise Neale (Jr., Glacier Peak WA) won the girls race with a very swift 17:09.  Neale looked strong as she widened the gap to second place with every mile.  Teammate Katie Bianchini, also a junior, finished 2nd in 17:37.
  • Carrie Verdon (Sr., Campolindo) had the fastest time of the day with 16:59 while running in the Division 3 race.  Karlie Garcia (Jr., Oakmont) finished 2nd with a 17:09 to tie Amy Eloise Neale for the 2nd fastest time of the day.
  • The La Costa Canyon girls won the team championship with 42 points placing all 5 runners in the top 18.  Glacier Peak finished second with 93 points.
  • Stockdale won the boys team championship with 109 points followed by Bellarmine with 114 points and La Costa Canyon with 120 points.
  • In the college race, Kathy Kroeger (Jr., Stanford) won the women's college 6K race in 20:07 with Aisling Cuffe (Fr., Stanford) in 2nd with a time of 20:12.  Stanford won the women's title with 24 points placing all 5 scoring runners in the top 10.  UC Davis finished 2nd with 138 points.
  • Chris Derrick (Sr., Stanford) won the men's college 8K race in 23:15 followed by teammate Jake Riley in 23:21.  Stanford men won the team title with 27 points placing 4 runners in the top 5.  UCLA took 2nd with 52 points.

Highlights

  • In the girls Danner Championship Maddie Meyers (Northwest) blasted a time of 17:38.25 to win but budding star Cherry Creek CO frosh Jordyn Colter was closing hard as she finished 2nd in a time of 17:41.88.  Mountain View ID lost the team title on a tie-breaker with Redondo Union CA as both teams scored 103 points and Redondo repeated.  
  • In the boys Danner Championship Jacob Smith (Wenatchee) won a close one over Dylan Blankenbaker (Ramona) 15:10.19 to 15:12.54.  Gig Harbor won the team title with 126 points.

 

UF Mt. Dew Invitational, FL

Highlights

  • Elliot Clemente (Belen Jesuit Prep) won the varsity boys race over Andres Arroyo (Colonial) 15:26 to 15:37.  Belen Prep won the team title with 52 points.
  • In the girls varsity race Shelby Davidson (Cocoa Beach) won with a time of 18:12 as Estero won the team title with 116 points.

 

FSU Seminole Invitational, FL

Highlights

  • Daniel Moore (Holy Trinity) won the boys Varsity race with a time of 15:43.81 over Thomas Howell (Niceville) who ran 15:46.95.
  • In the girls Varsity race Lily Williams (Chiles) won in 18:00.60 as frosh Julie Woolrath (Holy Trinity) finished 2nd in 18:08.40.

 

Bob Firman Invitational, ID

Highlights

  • Katie Knight (North Central) travelled from Washington to win against some tough competition as she clocked an 18:07.89 winning time.  Kelsey Braithwaite (Box Elder) finished 2nd in 18:15.01.  
  • US#1 Arcadia CA boys won the Elite division with 81 points as Sergio Gonzalez and Ryan Vargas went 3-4 in the race.  Dallin Farnsworth (Highland) won the individual title with a time of 15:45.25 over Brad Nye (Davis) who ran 15:50.42.

 

Rim Rock Farm XC Classic, KS

Highlights

  • Jacob Morgan (Washburn) blasted a new course record on this famous XC course with a blazing 15:13 clocking to win the Gold race, 9 seconds up on 2nd place.
  • Samanthana Nightingale (Blue Springs) won the girls Gold race with a time of 14:15.40 over 4k.

 

Nebo Invitational, UT

Highlights

  • American Fork UT scored just 17 points to take the team win as Clayton Young won individually for the Cavemen with a time of 14:52.12 for the 3 mile course at 4700 feet.
  • Kaylee Boyer (Pine View) won the girls race with a time of 18:22.13.

 

Palatine Invitational, IL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Kaylee Flanagan (Lake Park) blistered another 3 miler this weekend going 16:51.30 to win the girls varsity race.  Assumption won the team race with 80 points.
  • Leland Later (New Trier) won the boys varsity race in 14:34.40 while Palatine took team honors with 110 points.

 

Midwest Invitational, WI

Highlights

  • Molly Seidel (University Lake) won big with a 13:19.99 clocking over 4k while 2nd place was 13:58.96.

 

Bowdoin Park XC Classic, NY

Highlights

  • US#2 Christian Brothers Academy NJ flat-out dominated the boys varsity race, winning with just 26 points over Don Bosco Prep who had 72 points.  CBA had a team average of 16:30 and put 5 runners in the top-10 and all 7 in the top-18.  George Kelly won the race overall to lead the charge with a time of 16:22.02.   

 

PIAA Foundation XC Invitational, PA

Coverage

Highlights

  • In the girls Gold race Sara Sargent (Pennsbury) led her team to the victory with her winning time of 19:07.  Pennsbury scored 72 points in the victory.
  • In the boys Gold race Cardinal O'Hara topped Mount Lebanon 79 to 85 as Sam Hibbs (Hatboro Horsham) took the win in 16:34.

 

Carlisle Invitational, PA

Highlights

  • North Allegheny PA won the boys Puma Challenge with 76 points and a 16:36.28 average.  Brendan Shearn (North Schuylkill) won the boys title with a time of 16:05.76.
  • In the girls Puma Challenge Chambersburg PA upset North Allegheny PA 102 to 118.  Greta Lindsley (Penn Manor) won the individual title with a time of 18:44.55.

 

Culver Invitational, IN

Highlights

  • US#2 Carmel IN girls won big with 76 points as Columbus North IN was 2nd with 129.  Kelcy Welch led the way for Carmel with a 18:07 winning time.  
  • Carmel IN boys upset US#4 Columbus North IN with a close score of 92 to 100.  Tyeson Mundy crossed the line ahead of Andrew Diehn 15:41.8 to 15:43.5.

 

Maymont XC Festival, VA

Highlights

  • US#3 Tatnall DE girls looked very good as they won the girls Invitational race without US#4 Haley Pierce as they scored just 39 points.  Reagan Anderson and Rebecca Salter went 1-2 for Tatnall in 18:28.86 and 18:45.36.
  • In the boys Invitational race Patrick Joseph (Loudon County) won with a time of 16:11.04.

 

Queensbury Invitational, NY

Highlights

  • US#6 Shaker NY boys get upset by US#20 Arlington NY boys in a tight battle 46 to 51 points.  Mike Libruk and Jon Vallecorsa went 1-2 for Shaker with times of 15:52.49 and 15:55.21.
  • In the girls race US#7 Saratoga Springs NY put 7 runners inside the top-9 to win with 17 points!  Taylor Driscoll led the way for Saratoga with a winning time of 18:24.38.

 

Greensboro XC Invitational, NC

  • US#4 Green Hope NC girls will compete in this NC classic.  Sammy George (Millbrook) should be an individual favorite as she ran 17:45 last weekend.

 

Roy Griak Invitational, MN

Highlights

  • US#5 Bismarck ND boys won the Gold varsity race with 102 points and a 16:21 team average.  Jake Leingang led the way with his winning effort of 15:33.44.
  • In the girls Gold varsity race Allie Fons (Franklin) won the race with a time of 18:12.3.  Dowling Catholic won the team title with 130 points.
