How to evaluate this year for Eric Winfrey? He hasn't improved his PR in the 400 from previous seasons (at least not yet!), but he has run all-time bests in the 100 and 200. In the end, maybe his newfound speed in the short sprints is a sign of a big 400 still to come, either at the New Balance Nationals or on the next level (at the University of South Carolina). In my few interactions with him, I've always had the impression that he is a fantastic young man with a great work ethic, and hopefully that means his best is still ahead!
