CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Seniors Heather Conarroe, Sarah Cline and Lauren Childs finished in the top 10 in the 5,000 meters to lead the Davidson Wildcat women's track and field team as competition concluded Sunday at the Charlotte 49er Classic on Irwin Belk Track on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

Conarroe was the Wildcats' top finisher, running a fifth-place time of 17:49.70 in the 5,000 meters, followed by classmates Cline (7th, 17:51.40) and Childs (9th, 18:07.67). Freshman Megan Mavity (13th, 18:19.08) and sophomore Natalie Atabek (21st, 18:55.69) finished inside the top 25, while freshman Olivia Goolsby (42nd, 19:54.26), and junior Alyssa Moudy (51st, 20:35.62) also competed in the event for Davidson.

Freshman Maggie Rickard (46th, 5:09.41), junior Jane Gay (47th, 5:10.61), sophomore Anna Armistead (49th, 5:11.83), junior Cara Wilck (58th, 5:20.64) and sophomore Haley Holway (59th, 5:21.00) competed in the 1,500 meters for the Wildcats.

Sophomore Mackenzie Hicks finished with a time of 13.62 (59th) in the 100 meters, and junior Brooke Senken (69th, 1:09.02) and junior Jena Manilla (70th, 1:10.04) ran in the 400 meters.

In the field events, junior Erin Lupfer placed seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters.

The Wildcats will return to action next weekend at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
