This Week's Nominees:
Ataja Stephane-Vazquez, Southeast Guilford (North Carolina): Won the 400 at the Mount Tabor Last Chance in 52.31, the fastest time among all 156 athletes who competed in the event this week.
Valerie Gainey, T.W. Andrews (North Carolina): Swept three events at the 4A/5A PAC 7 Conference Championship, clocking 11.60 in the 100 and 24.20 in the 200. The #4 sophomore in North Carolina in the 100 also won the 400 in 1:00.94.
Isabella Kartsonis, Cuthbertson High School (North Carolina): Cleared 13-4 to win the pole vault at the Southern Carolina Conference Championship, the top freshman mark in North Carolina this season.
Zhoe Holt, Bradford Prep Charter School (North Carolina): Posted the week's fastest 200 time at 23.82 while winning at the CSAC Conference Meet, then added a victory in the 100 in 11.86. She leads all North Carolina freshmen in both sprint events this season.
D'Anna Cotton, Cummings, Hugh M. (North Carolina): Dominated the Mid-Carolina Conference Championship with three victories and the week's top marks in each event. She won the triple jump at 41-0, cleared the 100 hurdles in 13.87, and jumped 19-6.5 in the long jump.
