We're entering the home stretch of the North Carolina outdoor track & field season and action is heating up across the state, with massive breakthroughs and personal bests lighting up stadiums across the Tar Heel State. Today, we're going to take a look at some of the state's top performers over the last week of competition.

Sprint Events - Top Performers
Bryan Lindsay, Mooresville - Lindsay picked up a big win against strong competition at the Ardey Kell Knights Meet, taking the 400m in 47.84 to move to NC #7. He also ran 21.78 in the 200m earlier in the week - he's thrown down competitive times across both events.
Jordon McNeill, Southwest Guilford - McNeill took 1st in the 200m (20.84) at the Guilford County Championships, running a NC #2 and missing the top time in the state by just 0.01. He also sits NC #3 in the 400m, establishing himself as one of the top sprinters in the state.
Cassidee Fraser, North Lenoir - Fraser had a huge week, picking up wins in both the 100m and 200m across two meets. She now leads the state and sits US #7 in the 100m at 11.18, while also ranking NC #4 in the 200m.
Durham School for the Arts Girls 4x400m - DSA dropped a 3:50 at the Big 7 Meet #2, the fastest time in the state this season. That mark immediately puts them at the top of the relay conversation heading into the postseason.

Field Events - Top Performers
Chase McCullough, Hickory Ridge - McCollough launched a 203-1 in the discus to take over NC #1 and move to US #12, extending his win streak to nine straight. He's also undefeated in the shot put this season and sits NC #3, showing dominance across both events.
Ben Altenburg, Norwood - Altenburg made his season debut count, clearing 16-0 in the pole vault to take over NC #1 at the Apex Relays. The defending 2A state champion looks right back in form early on.
A'Chonacey Mabry, Southwest Edgecombe - Mabry set a huge PR in the long jump, going 19-11 to move to NC #1 at the Conference Meet #2. After winning the event at this same meet last year, she's once again at the top of the state.
Tessa Kranick, Cardinal Gibbons - Kranick picked up her second straight win in the pole vault, clearing a new PR of 12-0 at the Triangle Six Conference Championship. After finishing indoor ranked top 100 nationally, she's building momentum outdoors and currently sits NC #4.
Distance Events - Top Performers
Broughton Boys 4x800m - Broughton ran 7:53 to take the win at the Cap 8 Conference Meet, one of the top times in the state this season. That performance puts them firmly in the mix among the top relay squads.
Cali Townsend, Watauga - Townsend picked up wins in both the 800m and 3,200m at the Trojan Timing Classic, notably running a 2:10 PR in the 800. She also ran 10:08 in the 3,200m the week prior, continuing a strong stretch in the distance events.
