AJ Hicks, a senior form Solon High School, has decided to continue his education and track and field career at the University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chappel Hill, North Carolina. Hicks finished third at the Division 1 OHSAA State Championship in the Discus with a personal record throw of 180-1. Hicks also finished fourth in the shot put at the state meet with a throw of 56-8.25.
Hicks has the second best returning throw in the shot put for the state of Ohio with an outdoor personal record toss of 58-8.75 (Hicks' indoor personal record is 60-1). Hicks also returns the third best discus throw in Ohio (15th best returning throw in the nation) with his toss at the state meet of 180-1. In the weight throw, Hicks has a personal record of 62-9.
