WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Three-time All American Ed Moran (Dayton, NJ), who qualified for the NCAA Regional in the 5,000m at the Raleigh Relays this Friday, has been honored as the CAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today. Moran was competing for the first time competitively since breaking his foot in a third-place performance at the 2003 NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional, and the graduate student showed little signs of rust of he clocked a sharp 14:10.40 for 5,000m in his first race of the season, breaking the NCAA Regional qualifying standard my some eight seconds. The time, which also qualified Moran for IC4As in the 5,000m, earned the three-time All-American runner-up honors in the seeded 5,000m race at the meet, as it was the first time Moran had competed on the track since earning his third career All-America honors, coming in the 5,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June 2003. Tribe track and field returns to action this weekend at the Liberty Invitational, April 1-2.
