This Week's Nominees:
Zhoe Holt, Bradford Prep Charter School (North Carolina): Posted a state-leading 11.54 in the 100 meters, winning at the Clash of the Carolina's in a field of 97 competitors. The freshman also clocked 58.57 to win the 400 meters at the Wildcat Early Bird Invitational, moving to #9 in North Carolina.
Promise Lovelace, Statesville (North Carolina): Threw a state-leading 46-4 in the shot put to win at the Alexander Central Home Meet #1, breaking her PR of 44-4 set earlier this season. She defeated state #5 Iyona Reid head-to-head while also placing 2nd in the discus with a throw of 137-0.
Jamie Paku, Garner (North Carolina): Ran a state-leading 23.96 to win the 200 meters at the GNRC Quad Meet, breaking her PR of 24.00 set earlier this season.
Iyona Reid, Statesville (North Carolina): Won the discus at the Alexander Central Home Meet #1 with a state-leading throw of 145-10, a new PR improving from 139-8. The senior defeated teammate Promise Lovelace, who ranks #4 in the state, in their head-to-head battle.
Lily Stough, Watauga (North Carolina): Swept the jumping events at the FCA Track and Field Carnival, winning the triple jump with a state-leading 40-0.5 that broke her PR of 39-10. She also won the long jump at 18-3.5 and took the 200 meters in 25.82, setting a new PR from 26.80.
