Junior #T.J. Brancaccio# finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 15-1 at the Tony Waldrop Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Brancaccio's vault was just two inches short of his season high of 15-3 which he cleared at Aggie Relays in Greensboro, N.C. The junior fell short of his goal of 16-0 which he needs to clear to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet.

Fellow junior Justin Conaway also competed in the Invitational, finishing 18th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.91. The time was .4 seconds shy of the mark of 10.50 needed to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet.

The Panthers have four athletes in position to qualify heading into this weekend: senior Josh Morgan in the 1,500-meter, seniors Jesse Cherry and Cole Atkins in the 10,000-meter and freshman Josh Pelletier in the javelin.
