Wildcats Compete at Liberty and Duke Invitationals Over the Weekend

LYNCHBURG, Va./DURHAM, N.C.. -- The Davidson Wildcat women's track and field team competed at the Duke Invitational and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational this weekend.

Freshman Natalie Atabek highlighted the weekend performances, finishing sixth in the "A" heat of the 5000 meters with a time of 17:35.88 at the Duke Invitational held this weekend at Duke's Wallace Wade Stadium. Junior Lauren Childs placed 13th in the event in 18:02.04, and classmate Heather Conarroe was 17th with a time of 18:16.50. Junior Sarah Cline also competed for the Wildcats at the Duke Invitational, finishing 35th in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:52.41.

Davidson also sent runners to the Liberty Collegiate Invitational held this weekend at the Flames' Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex, where freshman Rosie Lewis finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.95 and fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a tie of 14.95. She also placed 13th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.96.

Classmate Haley Holway finished 11th in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:18.14 and finished 22nd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:39.17. Sophomore Brooke Senken also competed in both events, finishing 14th with a time of 5:29.80 in the 1500 meters and 24th in 2:39.82 in the 800 meters. Freshman Anna Armistead placed 12th in the 1500 meters in 5:23.59, and sophomore Abbey Thibeault was 22nd in the event with a time of 6:06.03. Junior Cathryn Westra finished 10th in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:48.69.

Davidson will return to action at Winthrop University's Carolina Cup in Rock Hill, S.C. April 9.
