The High Point University men's track & field team got a win from
TJ Brancaccio in the pole vault at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Relays on Friday in Greensboro, N.C. On Saturday,
Justin Conaway placed ninth in the 100-meter dash.
Brancaccio cleared 15-3 in the pole vault for the victory. He also had a strong attempt at 15-9.
In the 100-meter dash, junior
Justin Conaway qualified for the finals with his time of 11.15 into a headwind on Friday evening. On Saturday with the wind at his back, Conaway cruised to ninth in 10.81. Also in the sprints,
Sebastien Bonnot ran a career-best 50.12 to place 16th in the 400-meter and took 32nd in the 100-meter dash in 11.76.
Freshman
Jonathan Riley placed seventh in the 3,000-meter in 9:43.91, his first race of the outdoor season.
Sophomore
Ben AuYeung continued his decathlon training by competing in the 100-meter dash, 400-meter and discus, recording his best finish in the discus at 26th.
Next weekend, the Panthers will be in two locations again. HPU will be back at North Carolina A&T for the Murray Neely Invitational and will send competitors to the Carolina Classic at UNC.
