1A/2A/3A Performance List

Girls Predictions

Shot Put: Alisha Bradshaw, Salisbury

Long Jump: Teaunna Cuthbertson, North Rowan (NC #1)

Triple Jump: Teaunna Cuthbertson, North Rowan

High Jump: no idea on this one . . . 9 girls seeded at 5-0 to 5-2

Pole Vault: Ashleigh Culpepper, Franklin

55m Hurdles: going to be a good race . . . can Teaunna Cuthbertson win 3 events? I think so.

55m: Erin Tucker, JM Robinson

3200m: Sarah Rapp, Cardinal Gibbons

500m: Francesca Evans, Cummings

4x800: Cardinal Gibbons

300m: Breahna Morrison, Weddington

1600m: Sarah Rapp, Cardinal Gibbons

1000m: Destine Kirkman, Harding University

4x400m: Harding University

Team Title: Looks like Cummings will be in the mix yet again. Also, look out for Weddington if Morrison & Matson can give them big points. Cardinal Gibbons could score some big points as well. Finally, North Rowan or should I say, Teaunna Cuthbertson may score 30 by herself and Harding could be tough.

NCRunners.com Prediction: 1st-Cummings HS; 2nd-Weddington; 3rd-Harding University; 4th-Cardinal Gibbons; 5th-North Rowan

Boys Predictions

Shot Put: Ryan Minor, South Brunswick (NC #1)

Long Jump: Coye Still, Hickory Ridge

High Jump: again, 9 guys at 6-2 to 6-4, have no guess

Pole Vault: Top 6 vaulters in the state! Landon Hunt, Robbinsville

Triple Jump: John Minott, Union Pines

55m Hurdles: Daishon Barger, West Rowan

55m: This is going to be real close. A lot of hand times here. Torri Tillman, Marvin Ridge

3200m: Jake Hurysz, Eastern Alamance

4x800m: Eastern Alamance (NC #1)

500m: John Schilkowsky, Patton

300m: Torri Tillman, Marvin Ridge

1600m: Jake Hurysz, Eastern Alamance (Ok, so now he's running . . . thoughts of the team doing well has encouraged a triple)

1000m: John Wolfe, Polk County (NC #1 indoors)

4x400m: Douglas Byrd

Team Title: Asheville looks to be the top team as they seem to have athletes spread out and should have a number of very high places (1st & 2nd places). West Rowan could sneak in to the mix as they look strong in the sprints and long jump. As we know from years of state meets, doesn't take too many individuals to win. Also, Marvin Ridge should be near the top. However, I look for Asheville to run away with this one. Don't count out Eastern Alamance and Jake Hurysz as well. Could be 30 plus points.

NCRunners.com Prediction: 1st-Asheville; 2nd-West Rowan; 3rd-Marvin Ridge; 4th-Eastern Alamance; 5th-Douglas Byrd
