How Each NCHSAA Team State Champion Got The Job Done

NCHSAA 4A Girls - Cuthbertson

Cuthbertson's dominance continued over the weekend. They once again completed the triple, winning cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field. The senior class at Cuthbertson graduates having never lost a state championship.

Alyssa Preisano, toughing it out through an injury, finished 8th in the 1,600m, and fellow senior Maya Studney was runner-up in the long jump and 5th in the triple jump. Isabelle Liu was runner-up in the triple jump and Sophie Hoang was 7th.

The three juniors, Charlotte Bell, Stella Kermes, and Justine Preisano teamed up with freshman Josie Schihl to give the state a taste of what's to come in 2024. They won a tight 4x800m battle with Mount Tabor and Cardinal Gibbons.

Charlotte Bell completed the 800m/1,600m double, posting insane marks in both. She ran NC No. 6 all-time 4:43.27 in the 1,600m. Stella Kermes was runner-up in the 1,600m and 3rd in the 800m. J. Preisano joined her teammates on the podium for the 800m, finishing 4th.
