Brayden Richards Posts 6745 Points, Wins Decathlon At AAUJOs

Brayden Richards recorded 6745 points to earn the AAU Junior Olympic Games decathlon title in the 17-18 Division at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.

The multi-events competition, which began on Saturday, turned into a 3-day affair following a delay due to inclement weather on Sunday evening.

Richards, representing Ohio's Perry Track Club, wrapped up his victory on Monday morning at Truist Stadium, a location he gravitated to over the course of the weekend, as it played host to his incredible seven PR's achieved out of ten contested events.

He indicated to MileSplit's Cory Mull that everything was clicking and by the end he was in the zone and expecting nothing but new personal bests.

Richards' track and field work is now officially done for the summer season. Next up for the rising junior, and quarterback, at Perry High School is training camp for the 2022 OHSAA football season.
