Listen To Shawnti Jackson Talk About Her CAP 7 Championship


Shawnti Jackson (Cardinal Gibbons) won her first career CAP 7 championship this weekend, running 11.55 en route to a 100m dash win over Jahzara Hart (SE Raleigh) and Kendall Johnson (Millbrook). Jackson got out to a blazing start immediately putting distance between herself and the competition out of the blocks.

Although it was not a new personal best for Jackson, she has plenty to be proud of with this run. Her 11.55 is now a CAP-7 conference record and she now also holds the Cardinal Gibbons High School facility record! With her regional also being held at Cardinal Gibbons she has another chance to break the facility record and chase the NCHSAA 4A East meet record of 11.74.
