1 Seed: Kathy McMillan (Hoke County)

Kathy McMillan won the Olympic Silver Medal the summer after her senior year at Hoke County at just 18 years old in 1976.  McMillan was well ahead of her time in the Long Jump with a now US#2 All-Time 22-3 mark.  McMillan holds 6 of the top 11 Long Jump individual performances of All-Time and has only been broken by Kate Hall's 22-5 in 2015. She is one of three girls ever to clear 22 feet and did it three times her senior year at Hoke.

2 Seed: Greg Yeldell (North Rowan)

Greg Yeldell set what at the time was a high school national record in the triple jump in 1998 at the IAAF World Junior Championships with a 53-11.25.  The mark is good for US#2 All-Time today and he is one of two North Carolina boys ever over 53 feet.  

3 Seed: Green Hope Boys 4x800m

Green Hope boys were New Balance National Runner-Ups in 2018 finishing second to Northport, NY running 7:32.06 good for US#6 All-Time Outdoors.  The team of Matthew Kehn, Ares Epps, Sean Petersen and Ian Delgado ran 1:53.23, 1:52.24, 1:55.20 and 1:51.36 and are the only North Carolina team under 7:40.

4 Seed: Terrell Adams (Middle Creek)

Adams launched a 213-9 throw at the 2016 4A Mideast Regional hitting the back fence of the discus facility.  His second best mark his senior year was 204-9 and is the only North Carolina boy to break 200 in the discus.  Adam's 213-9 is good for US#19 All-Time Outdoors.

5 Seed: Wakefield Girls 4x200m, 4x400m

Wakefield girls set the 4x200m, 4x400m and 800m Sprint Medley Relay National Record in 2012.  They ran 1:35.98 at Arcadia in 2012, 3:43.01 at New Balance Indoor Nationals in 2012 and 1:43.97 for the 800m SMR in 2011.  The teams consisted of Ariah Graham, Tiana Patillo, Olicia Sharp, Tyra Lea and Desiree Fisher.

6 Seed: DeAnne Davis (Cummings)

Davis won 23 NCHSAA State Championships from 1993-1996 and holds the North Carolina Triple Jump State Record at 42-6, which still stands as a 17-18 Age Group Meet Record from the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

7 Seed: Lindsay Absher (West Forsyth)

Lindsay Absher edged Kristen Lee (Wakefield) for the overall North Carolina Pole Vault State Record in 2019 after clearing 13-6ΒΌ at New Balance Indoor Nationals.  Absher is one of just 6 North Carolina girls to ever break 13 feet.

8 Seed: Knightdale Boys 4x100m

Knightdale are the only NC boys 4x100m under 41 seconds.  Their team of Mar-Keo Jones, Burkheart Ellis Jr., Da'Quan Smalls and Joseph Horton ran 40.93 in 2011 at New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
