Waggoner Named Ronald McDonald House AOTW

DURHAM, N.C. -  Blue Devil junior cross country runner Bo Waggoner has been named Ronald McDonald House Athlete of the Week after earning his second ACC Performer of the Week honor of the season on Monday.

This past weekend, Waggoner placed third at the 24th Annual Roy Griak Invitational held at the Lee Bolstad Golf Course. He completed the rain-soaked 8K race in 24:53 and trailed only All-Americans Hassan Mead of Minnesota and Guor Majak of Iowa State, becoming Duke's highest finisher ever at the event. His top-three finish also helped the Blue Devils set a new program best at the Roy Griak with a third-place team finish.

In addition, Waggoner was also the Blue Devils' top finisher at the James Madison Invitational on Sept. 12, setting a new course record after completing the 8K race in 24:20. For his efforts, the Maumee, Ohio, native picked up his first ACC Performer of the Week nod of the season on Sept. 14.
