DAVIDSON, N.C. - After taking home a second-place finish at the season opener and helping Davidson to the overall team title, senior Lance Harden was named the Southern Conference Men's Runner of the Week, as announced today by the league office.

“This is a well deserved honor for Lance and validates his many all-conference honors,” said head coach Gary Andrew.

Harden tripped the tape in 25:29, which was not only good enough for second in the meet, but was also one of the top-ten 8K performances in school history.

The Apex, N.C. native's time is one second off the mark he recorded on the same course at the 2008 SoCon Championships on his way to All-SoCon honors, and currently ranks as the top time in the conference this season.

The Wildcats will look to continue their strong start on Sept. 19 when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take part in the Winthrop Invitational.
