GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Blue Devils' Bo Waggoner was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, while Duke's Emily Schwitzer earned the ACC's Women's Performer of the Week honors as announced by the league on Monday.
Waggoner paced Duke to the team title in the James Madison Invitational with a second-place finish, completing the 7,900-meter course in 24:20.60. Led by Waggoner, Duke had seven runners finish in the top-10, including three posting times under the previous course record.
Led by Schwitzer, the Blue Devil women's squad also claimed the team title at the James Madison Invitational, placing eight runners in the top 10. Schwitzer took first place out of 119 participants, finishing the 5,100-meter course in 18:09.50, eclipsing the previous course record of 18:20:00.
The Blue Devil men compete again on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Roy Griak Invitational. Duke's women's squad will return to action on Saturday, Oct, 3 at the Wisconsin Invite.
