Maclay senior, Junious (Jay) Brown, has signed to compete for Florida State after graduation in 2020.
The two-time track and field state champion in the 800m and 1600m, has had his best cross country season of his career and he is ending it on a high note by signing with the Noles.
Brown has had three top ten cross country state finishes over his career and recently finished third at the FHSAA 1A state championship back in November.
He's had some top performances under his belt this season, including a top fifteen finish at Great American where he ran a cross country 5k PR of 15:14.50.
The Noles are gaining a well-rounded distance athlete. Not only is Brown a sub 15:30 standout, but he also holds PR's of 1:55 in the 800m and 4:18 in the one mile run.
After his summer full of training, those track times are sure to go down in history this 2020 season as he enters in as one of the top middle distance athletes in the state.
