SCRUNNERS XC Series: Week 3 Standings

The third week of the SCRunners Cross Country Series sponsored by Go-Green Events saw a lot of changes in the top ranks.  Two meets again affected the points - the Mike Moore Lake Murray Invitational at Crooked Creek State Park in Chapin and the Warrior Invitational on Pawley's Island.

The individual boy's series saw Casey Burr of Wade Hampton jump from third place to first place with 51 total points four ahead of Pendleton's Ronan O'Neill who did not compete in a series race this weekend.  Making the biggest jumps of the week are Eastside's Spain Vaughan and Jonathan Fox.  Spain climbed from 10th last week to third this week followed by his teammate who jumped from 14th to fourth.

Wade Hampton maintained the top spot in the boy's team race.  Eastside moved from ninth to second, while Greer Middle College held its spot at third.  Previously second-ranked and idle this week Southside dropped to sixth.  Wando moved up from 11th to fourth and St. Joseph's held onto its fifth place rank.

Macey Morgan of Mauldin took over the girl's individual top spot from last week's leader Alexus Atkins of Landrum, who was idle. Alexus dropped to fourth tied with Riverside's Jessie Crowley.  Elizabeth Rogers, also of Riverside, held onto her number two spot, while St. Joseph's Ava Dobson climbed from seventh to third.  Hannah Vroon of James Island had the biggest top 10 climb, moving from last week's 19th to sixth.

The girls' team from Riverside maintained its hold on first place and putting 24 points between them and the next two teams. Greer Middle College moved from fifth to a tie with Wade Hampton for the second spot.  River Bluff moved up from 13th to fourth and Eastside moved from ninth to fifth.

Next week's meets at Dorman and James Island will put the series past the halfway point.  Remember that the Coaches Classic counts twice as much as the other meets.  The lowest three weeks of all points will be dropped at the end of the season (except the Coaches Classic) to determine the series winners.
