We have over 60 teams scheduled for this years event.  Be sure to enter seed marks as athletes entered at 'NT' are not likely to be accepted if the field is full.

NCRunners and meet host, Cuthbertson Middle School are excited to announce the Second Annual, NCRunners Middle School Elite Invitational!  The event is open to all North Carolina Middle Schools on Saturday, May 4th at Cuthbertson High School Track in Waxhaw!  There will once again be a ZERO dollar entry fee for the event!

The meet will be open to all middle schools, public, private, charter you name it!  Also, understanding that several middle schools do not allow their teams to travel outside of their counties for meets, athletes from the same school will be allowed to create and run on behalf of a middle school club team (not administered by the school).  For example, if students from "Charlotte Middle School" wish to compete but cannot travel, families of those students can enter their athletes to run as "Charlotte MS Track Club".  Please contact Jason Creasy at NCRunners at jason.creasy11@gmail.com if you wish to create and enter a team in this manner.

Again, the intent of the meet is to serve and celebrate as many top Middle School programs in NC on one track as possible to close the Middle School Track season.  In 2018, the inaugural event saw 33 middle school teams competing, with several highlights as follows:

·       7th Grader Akala Garrett (Westerly Hills MS) ran a US#21, 14.8 in the girls' 100Mh

·       Adrian Archer (West Pine MS), Giovanni Rincon (Crain's Creek MS), and Nate Jaster (Weddington MS) finished within ½ second of each other, running a US#15 4:44 in the boys' 1600M

·       7th Grader Marissa Bosland (Cuthbertson MS) ran a US#8, 5:15 in the girls' 1600M, narrowly holding off Vanessa Alder (West Pine MS) and teammate Charlotte Bell

·       7th Grader Kaylyn Brown (Holbrook MS) ran a US#20, 56.84 in the girls' 400, out-leaning Akayla Garrett at the line

·       Lauren Tolbert (Belmont MS) ran a US#40, 2:21 in the girls' 800

·       Cuthbertson's girls ran a US#18, 10:07 in the girls' 4 x 800M relay

·       McKynzie Mauney (Grier MS) threw a US#20, 38-01 in the girls' shot put, and 98-6 in the girls' discuss

Team trophies will again be awarded to the Team Champion and Runner-Up teams for each gender, and medals will be given to the Individual Champion in each event.

The meet will feature all events competed at the high school level except for Pole Vault, which the majority of middle school programs don't have.  Hurdle heights will be 33" for the boys 110m Hurdles and 30" for the Girls 100m Hurdles, Girls 300m Hurdles, and Boys 300m Hurdles.  We know not all schools compete in events such as the 4x800m, 3200m and 300m Hurdles; we can help figure out approximate seed times for those athletes using PRs from similar events if you wish to debut athletes in these events at the NCRunners Middle School Invitational.

The meet will follow the High School Outdoor Track Order of Events.

ENTRY LIMITS and TIMING - each team can enter up to 5 athletes per individual event and 1 relay, with each event capped at the top 56 athletes per events run in lanes, top 50 for distance events and 35 athletes for field events.  Those designations are noted above on the order of events.  The meet will be run under FAT timing provided by Mitchell Timing.

Entries will be done through NCRunners, and seed times will need to be in the MileSplit database in order to register for the event.  Results can come from any meet you compete at during the outdoor track season, Dual Meets or your County Championships.  If you need a team page set up, or need to get your results into the database, you can send us an email at jason.creasy11@gmail.com We'll be happy to help with any registration issues you come across.
