Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing the Stanford?

My top five were Stanford, Washington, Air Force, Oregon, and Kansas. They all have so much to offer and I loved the coaches and teams at every one. I took five official visits and tried to stay completely neutral until I had taken them all. I really liked all of them, but the academics, campus, location, and reputation of Stanford was irresistible!

Q) What do you plan to study at Stanford

I plan to study engineering. I've always loved designing/building things and understanding how things work. I'm excited to have access to the the knowledge and maker-spaces that Stanford has to offer, and purse this degree

Q) What is your favorite part about pole vaulting?

My favorite thing about pole vaulting is... Pole Vaulting! The sport is literally human catapulting! There's something so fun about being launched up into the air and falling into the pit. I also enjoy the complexity of it. There are so many things going on; so many things that have to go right for a vault to work and you can't think about all of them at once. The challenge of figuring out how to make it all work has always intrigued me.

Q) Could you share any goals you have for the upcoming track season?

18 feet!

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?

My favorite moment was definitely breaking my dads 32 year old State Meet record last spring. Everything went perfect and it was such a fun day. Still feels like a dream.
