#3 returner with a 15:40 PR, but the top returner in the 3200m with a 9:17 last spring. Verchick's a proven stud and seems to be the best suited of the class for cross country. Will debut at Jungle Run tonight.
2
Top returner to the NCHSAA State Championships after 5th place finish. Ran 15:41 last fall and 4:25, 9:32 on the track. Took 5th at the 4A State Championship in the 3200m.
3
2nd 9:30.70 @ 8 way meet
The biggest breakout from the track season. 1:53, 4:17 on the track. If he can bring that success to the XC course he could be the states top runner.
4
Coming off a big track season running 1:53, 4:16, 9:28. He's got a lot of room to improve in the 5K. Ran 15:53 last year as a junior
5
17th 10:07.40 @ 8 way meet
Top overall returner, but didn't have as strong of a track season as those above them. 15:38 at WakeMed in 2017.
6
Top NCISAA returner, but missed pretty much all of the track season. New state lead this morning of 15:49 this AM
7

8
5th in 3A 1600m outdoors running 4:19 last spring. Reigning 3A West XC Champion where he ran 15:53. He went on to take 10th last fall in 3A XC and looks to be a star.

1st 9:26.90 @ 8 way meet
Picone ran 15:53 last year and could be Cary's top guy over Idhammar. 6th at 4A State Championships in 3200m with a 9:32 PR. Also ran 4:24 mile last outdoor season.
10
5th in 3A last fall ahead of Verchick, Durham and Zapherson. White was beat by Hensgen, Williams and Landis at WNC, but could be a 15:30 guy this fall.
11
13th 9:57.30 @ 8 way meet
Haughton ran 9:26 and 4:22 on the track last spring as a sophomore. He holds a 16:02 5K PR, but that should be shattered this fall. Was 14th in 4A XC last year.
12
Better XC runner than track runner returning with a 15:49 PR. Was 19th in 4A last fall but should step up for Green Hope as a senior.
13
Ran 1:55 and 4:19 last spring for the 1600m and looks to be Weddington's #2 heading into the season. Finished 8th at 3A State Champs last fall, but was beat by teammates Toomey & O'Hara at Providence.
14
Ran 15:54 last year at 3A West Regional. Had an off day at states finishing 28th, but should contender with Zapherson and White for Western NC's best guy.
15
Ran 15:55 early last year and took 7th at the 4A State Meet in the 3200m. Loads of potential
16
4:21 full Mile as a sophomore last spring. Proved he is going to have a breakout XC season with a 15:56 this fall.
17
Along with Blackman will be the new face of Green Hope. Vo ran 16:04 finishing as the teams 8th man. 4:26 and 9:35 indoors as we await his XC debut.
18
Was injured on the track so we didn't see him at full potential. Holds PRs from sophomore year of 4:20, 9:38 and 15:58. Should contend for 2A Individual crown this fall.
19
Toomey was not in our initial top 25 until last weekend where he debuted in 15:55 finishing as the top NC boy at Providence Invitational. Toomey ran 1:56 and 4:35 on the track and returner with a 16:19 PR as the 5th man on Weddington. He's certainly a big name that emerged early in the season
20
Big 16:09 PR at WNC. Ran 4:25 on the track as a sophomore last spring. Certainly has come a long way in XC early on.
21
Has been very strong over 3000m early in the season running ahead of #5 Bream. Will have to prove it over 5000m before making a big jump in our rankings.

24
Took 7th in NCISAA 3A State Championship last year running 16:09. Ran 4:25 on the track and should contender for the NCISAA 4A Individual title. We'll likely see him debut at adidas.
25
Krell ran 16:13 last year as a sophomore. He had a big track season running 4:24, and holds a 4:22 PR split from a DMR. Will battle with Landis for PDs top guy.

These boys were tough to rank. So many guys capable of being top 25 and guys from around 12 through 35 all are very close in my season long projections.
