Ryan Hill, a freshman at NC State University, placed 52nd overall the IAAF World Cross Country Championships this morning in Amman, Jordan. Ryan ran for Hickory High School and left quite a mark on the high school running scence over the last few years.
He made the US Junior team by placing 4th overall at the US Junior XC Championships. He followed the top 3 freshman in the NCAA this past year, German Fernandez of Oklahoma St., Chris Derrick of Stanford, and Luke Puskedra of Oregon.
I have talked with Ryan briefly while he was there, but the internet service has been very busy and very slow. I hope to have more from Ryan once he gets back to the states.
