Sir Walter Miler Is A Can't Miss Event For North Carolina Track Fans Tonight

Tomorrow at 8:15 at Meredith College one of the best Mile fields in the US on both the Men's and Women's side will compete.  The Elite Men's and Women's fields are loaded once again with a lot of former North Carolina High School superstars slated to compete.

On the girls side former Cardinal Gibbons star and Virginia Tech Grad Sarah Rapp will race in a loaded Mile field after winning becoming the Pop Up Miles Champion for the second year in a row.  App is a legend on the girls side in North Carolina winning 13 State Titles back in her high school days.  Former Olympic star and current NJNY Track Club runner Kenyetta Iyevbele is scheduled to rabbit the field.

On the boys side Reagan grad and current Nike Oregon Project member Craig Engels returns home to try and run his first sub 4 mile of his career.  Engels has run 3:35.95 for 1500, significantly under sub 4 minute pace, and looks to break 4 for the first time in his home state.  Walter Williams and NC State grad Graham Crawford will make his return to Sir Walter Miler, this time with the NJNY Track Club.  Last year Crawford ran his current Mile PR of 3:56.05 after capping off a successful career at NC State.  Crawford looks to cap off an excellent first year as a professional runner.  Also in this field will be Luis Vargas, who graduated from Harnett Central in 2011 before heading to Elon, then a year of grad school at NC State.  Vargas was an All-American in both Cross County and track at Elon and NC State and is one year removed from his NCAA days.

Another can't miss event is the new sensation that's sweeping the nation in the Raleigh Denim Mile, aka the Blue Jean Mile.  A fun event where athletes try to run the fastest Mile they can while wearing Blue Jeans.

After experiencing this event last year it was one of the coolest track meets I've ever attended with fans surrounding the track cheering on athletes to some very fast Miles as the professional track season comes to a close.

Can't make it out to the event, no worries.  We'll be streaming the event Live on FloTrack and will upload race video for our MileSplit Universal subscribers viewing pleasure.
