Aaron Wilkerson (Southern Guilford) established himself as a beast in the Shot Put this year. This indoor season at the VA Showcase Wilkerson had somewhat of a break out performance where he dominated an elite field with all his throws over 58 feet, PRs at the time. Wilkerson left the meet with a new PR of 60-0.5 ranking him at NC#4 All-Time Indoors.

Wilkerson didn't immediately make an impact on the high school scene in the Shot Put. His PRs for each year are below showing hard work and focus truly paid off for him.

Even though Wilkerson will go down as one of the great shot putters we've seen in North Carolina, it took until last week for Wilkerson to earn his first State Title in the event as Sherrod Greene (Rocky Mount) got the better of him his junior year and senior indoor season.
Wilkerson will head to North Carolina A&T University in the fall.
