Will Stratford, senior at West Jessamine High School, and Shelby Wagenseller, senior at Louisville Ballard, have committed to Davidson College in North Carolina.
Stratford has been part of a very successful distance program at West Jessamine over the past few years and just recently closed out his senior cross-country campaign by running a time of 16:26 in the Senior race at the South Region Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. He was part of the Class AA State Champion 4x800 meter relay for West Jessamine in 2007 and has 5 top six finishes individually to his name. He will look to run the 800 and 1500 meter at Davidson.
Wagenseller has been a staple in the 300m hurdle finals at the Class AAA state meet making it into the finals four out of the past five years. She has compiled three top six finishes from those finals alone and will be looking for her best finish ever this spring. She also competed in the 100m hurdles last year taking a strong second for Ballard, to go along with a fourth place finish in the 300's. Shelby has also had success as a part of Ballard's relay teams running on the 3rd place 4x400 meter team in 2006 and also on the 4x100 meter team at the state finals in 2008.
