In 2015, Frank Kenny won the North Carolina Class 2A state title over Noah Graham by the slimmest of margins: 16:37.41 to 16:37.91.
Graham, now a senior at Brevard High School, wasn't about to let that happen again. With 800m to go at this past weekend's state meet, he and Dakota Mendenhall pulled away from the pack of six --and ultimately, put 13 seconds on third place!-- and sped through the home straight, this time with Graham at 16:03.01 and Mendenhall at 16:03.91.
