Girls Top 25 Cross Country Countdown - #9 Myers Park

Myers Park lose only 1 from their top 7 from last season, and that was their fourth girl Sydney Farris.  They will be lead by Kate Eiselt who lead the team last season and this spring running 5:10 in the 1600 and 19:05 on the XC course,  Eiselt holds a PR of 18:41 from the state meet her freshman year. and seemed to be near that form last year.  Over her three years she holds finishes of 17th, 12th and 23rd at the NCHSAA 4A State Meet and will be hungry for an all-state position this fall.

Next the Mustangs have a solid group of three girls who have an 11 second gap with Story Gourley, Mason Brown, and Katherine Rains. Gourley and Rains are going into their senior seasons and hold PRs of 18:46 and 19:44 respectively.  Rains 2015 year was her first year running as was the outdoor season.  She only raced one on the track, but ran 5:25 for 1600. She could be a big breakout runner this fall for the Mustangs.  Mason Brown only ran XC in her freshman year at Myers Park.  So she will be a wild card as to where her fitness is coming into the season.

A weak point for Myers Park is the gap between their 4th and 5th girl.  But Amelia Faison, Laural Farr, and Sophie Shepard all had good track seasons.  Faison was the biggest improvement running 4:47.  She heads into her sophomore year and could be a big surprise this season.  Myers Park could end up with 7 girls under 20 minutes this season which would be scary depth wise.
