2015 4A State XC Finish -15th

In 2014 Ardrey Kell girls snagged the 4th spot in a tough 4A West region.  Last year they were as lucky and had to watch the state meet from home.  They return a full 7 girls, but struggle a little with consistency.  Their top 2 girls from last XC season were Emma Wiese and Josie Jordan.  Wiese will be a junior and raced a lot of 3200s during the outdoor season.  She will look to lead this Ardrey Kell team to their 3rd straight state meet.  Jordan had a very strong freshman campaign where she ran 18:35 and was 25th at the state meet.  But she has struggled since then and was only sub 20 twice during the 2015 XC season.  If Jordan can get back to her potential it would be a huge boost for AK.

Shelby Foreman and Lexie David had the strongest track seasons out of the team, running 5:21 and 5:26 respectively.  Foreman's older sister Sydney Foreman had an outstanding career at Ardrey Kell, and Shelby will look to tap into that during her senior season. This spring was her first full track season so she could come into this season in much better shape than previous years.  David, a rising junior, is a little better on the track than the XC course, but 2015 was her first year running XC so might of been learning curve for her.  She could drop a lot of time off of her 2015 mark.

You then have a large group of girls that will compete for the 5th-7th spot including Katie Gibbons, Katherine Wilder, Margaret Trumpower, and Jessica Brady.  They all have similar PRs and were very comparable during the outdoor season.  One of them will need to step up, and this could be a big year for Ardrey Kell.  With a strong 5th and Josie Jordan back where she was at her freshman season AK will be a team to watch out for.
