Northwest Guilford ranks 19th on the returning XC Rankings, and have the caliber to be a strong team this fall.  A main concern for the Vikings is that star runner Rebecca Kefer hasn't raced since Footlocker South.  Not sure if she missed out with injury, but it would certainly hurt NW Guilford's girls team significantly to not have her on the XC course this fall.  Kefer had a breakout end to her sophomore XC season where she took fifth at the NCHSAA 4A State Meet.

Bella Murray had the best track season on the team running 5:37 and should easily eclipse the 20:00 barrier this season. Shelby Spalding only seems to run XC and not track, so like Kefer she is a big question mark on where her fitness will be this fall, and #4 runner Rachel Rouse competed in Pole Vault this spring as well, so a lot of question marks for this NW Guilford squad, but a lot of potential to get it done on the XC course.  A strength is that they only lose their #7 girl from the state meet and return their top 6, who were able to finish 7th at the 4A State Meet last season.  The major point will depend on Kefer's health.  If she is at the same ability she was last fall she can lead this Northwest Guilford team to great success!
