The Biggest Stage is Yet to Come: NCHSAA 4A State Meet Recap

Things did not go perfectly for the Southeast Raleigh girls.  At the end of the day they accomplished their main goal, winning the 4A state title for the second time this school year, but the Bulldogs really had to sweat it out this time!  After being disqualified from the 4x200 and losing 10 points, they ended up winning by a scant 4.5 points over Mallard Creek, with Leesville Road just 1 additional point back!  That's a lot of team excellence for a meet with this much talent - it's rare to see two 4A schools score above 60, much less three.  It was also a lot closer than the boys' competition, where Hillside scored 52 points to defeat Hoke County by 10.  Photos of the top teams receiving their awards are below, and you can find all the girls and boys individual and relay highlights on the next two slides!
