North Carolina Athletes Perform Well at National Indoors

NC's National Titles total 7!

Spencer Adams of Butler won the 60mH at NSIC in New York City. Spencer's fastest time was 7.73 in the semi's, but also ran 7.75 in the finals to win by over 1 tenth of a second. His time is tied for #3 in the US.

While Spencer was winning the 60mH at NSIC, Wayne Davis, the top hurdler in the US was taking the title at NIN. Wayne tied the National Record with a superb run of 7.62! Wayne had run 7.63 earlier in the year at Arkansas, but this time finally gets a share in the national record. Wayne is only a Junior, so look out.

Maybe a bit unexpected, but New Bern's Fuquawn Greene won the 200m title at NIN in 21.98. He won by 1 one hundredth of a second! Fuquawn is only a sophomore and has been running great in the 200 this year.

New Bern has been spectacular on relays for a few years now, but proved their dominance more than ever at NIN this past weekend. In an amazing feat, New Bern won the national title in the 4x800 (7:58.18) and the SMR (3:29.24 - a new MEET RECORD!). If this wasn't enough, they also finished 2nd in the 4x200 and the 4x400. Incredible!

Jacinda Evans of Southern Durham has been jumping great all year and finished out the indoor season with a win at NIN. It wasn't her best jump of the year, but Jacinda did what needed to be done to earn a National title! She leaped out to 18-11.75.

TJ Graham of Wakefield won the 200m dash at NSIC in a very impessive time of 21.36. This is the fastest time in the US this season.
