Senior Spotlight: Kleo Torres of Southeast Raleigh

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is well known for its contribution to the growth and development of youth all across the nation...In the case of today's Senior Spotlight, the organization can be credited with the berth of one of North Carolina's promising track stars; before ever getting started with her Track Xplosion club team or her Southeast Raleigh school team, Kleo Torres was spending her afternoons running with the local Girls & Boys Club. Thanks to the start she got in her younger years, Kleo is now sitting among the top middle distance runners in the state. Many of her track appearances are made as part of a relay team, but that doesn't keep her from blazing around the track when she runs an open race; in just the first few weeks of the indoor track season, she set a 500m PR of 1:18.64, only to follow it up with a 1:17.02 two weeks later. The Southeast Raleigh senior has even bigger plans for the remainder of the indoor and outdoor seasons, so keep watch for more great performances to come!
