Girls 100 Dash
Unlike past years, there is no question that a North Carolina girl will be competing in the Dream 100 in June, because this field only contains North Carolina girls. The question is, which North Carolina girl? Based on current times, Gabrielle Cunningham (Mallard Creek) and Sydnei Murphy (Apex, below) are the top 2 candidates, but based on indoor 55 times the nod has to go to Murphy. That's where things get murky, though, because the girl with the best PR in the race is actually Charminique Hackney (Cary), at least when you throw out the wind-aided marks. Hackney lost to Courtney Warner (Aycock) last weekend at Elon, though, and...well, you get the point. Nobody knows who the favorite is for this race. In a way, that adds even more excitement!
