Giant Indoor Season Preview, Part 3: Top Relay Teams

Cary Girls, 4x400

Even when you have three top-tier talents on your team, you can't get very far in a relay without a fourth girl to bring it all together.  That's where Julia Brown comes in for Cary, who posted a time of 3:52.15 last year (US #8, NC #2 All-Time) and have all 4 runners back for a shot at sub-3:50 this winter.  The Imps won't be the only NC teams with that goal in mind - as previously mentioned, Parkland is very good in this relay.  Another team to watch is Sanderson, which has 3 of 4 back from the team that almost broke 4 last winter (and also ran 1:45 for 4x200 indoors), before going on to clock 3:54 in the spring.  A sleeper to watch: Phillip O. Berry ran 4:08 with 3 sophomores and a junior last winter, and those girls also broke 4 outdoors.
