Giant Indoor Season Preview, Part 2: Top Field Athletes

Remember, when searching the calendar or the rankings, this is the 2015 Indoor Track season. Returning rankings come from the 2014 Indoor Track season.

Marcus Krah, Hillside, Long & Triple Jump

Perhaps the best all-around talent in the state for the next two years, Marcus Krah was heavily featured in our sprints & hurdles article yesterday. He is also the top returner from last winter in the long jump (22' 9.5" US #17 Returning) and triple jump (47' 4.5" US #6 Returning). In the long jump, he will have to battle Jeremy Davis (Ben L Smith), the only other returner to go beyond 22 feet indoors in 2014; Davis and Krah jumped identical 23' 6" wind-legal marks outdoors. Two guys who didn't compete indoors last winter could also factor into the long jump discussion if they come out this year: Darryl Shaw (Jack Britt) and Tevin Quick (Ragsdale) both exceeded 23 feet outdoors. Shaw would also be a prime contender in the triple jump, as he posted a mark of 48' 3" outdoors (compared to Krah's best of 48' 0"). Asheville has a duo of 46-footers back from the 2014 indoor season in Noah Tyson and Mekhi McGuyver - both rank among the top 15 indoor returners in the nation.
