Giant Indoor Season Preview, Part 1: Top Sprinters & Hurdlers

Remember, when searching the calendar or the rankings, this is the 2015 Indoor Track season. Returning rankings come from the 2014 Indoor Track season.

Charminique Hackney, Cary, 55 Dash

Hackney exploded onto the national scene last year as a sophomore, becoming the only North Carolina girl to break 7 seconds in the 55 over the last two years. Her 6.99 is NC #6 All-Time and ranks her in a tie for the second-fastest returning time in the nation going into this season. She also had the top wind-legal 100 time in the state during the spring, but she won't just waltz away with the 55 title this winter. The state is loaded with girls' sprint talent, and athletes like Sydnei Murphy (US #11 Returning 7.11 for 55 & 11.79 for 100) and Tamara Clark (11.77 for 100) will force Hackney to be on her best game in just about any race. Another one to look out for: Gabriele Cunningham, who also gets mentioned on another slide.
