North Carolina Athletes Attending

Latoya James of Cummings has had a very fine year, running 13.67 in her qualifying heat at the USATF Jr. Nationals just last weekend. That time ranks her 4th all-time in North Carolina.

Latoya's teammate, Sherice Walker of Cummings will also be participating. Sherice has been consistent all year in the triple jump. Her best jump is 39' 6" and she would love to clip that 40' mark in Puerto Rico. Sherice was the top triple jumper in the state this year.

Antonio Sales of East Chapel Hill has had an outstanding career. He has been successful at the state level and the national level, finishing 3rd at this years Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 200 and winning last summer's Junior Olympic's National title in the 200. His best time of 21.07 was run at the state meet.

By now, most distance runners know who Hickory's Ryan Hill is. Ryan busted onto the scene during XC and didn't let up from there. Ryan clocked a 9:07 true 2-mile at this year's Nike Outdoor Nationals. He will run both the 1500 and the 3000. Ryan's PR's are: 9:03.99 (converted 3200m time) and 4:13.34 for a true mile.

NCRunners.com wishes these athletes a safe trip and a good time. Represent NC and the US well.
