Gabby Mayo of Southeast Raleigh and Johnny Dutch of Clayton were recently named Gatorade's Track Athletes of the Year in North Carolina. This is Gabby's 2nd honor in a row.

Athletes are honored for their athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exceptional character. Winners of the award join the prestigious list of past honorees, including Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, Lisa Leslie, Kerri Walsh, and Claudio Reyna."
Gabby and Johnny are now up for the National Track and Field Award. If one of them should win that, then they are eligible for the National Athlete of the Year Award which is the culminating award for all sports.
