Southeast Raleigh Celebrates with 2 State Titles

SE Raleigh state champs

Southeast Raleigh had many phonecalls to make on Saturday at 8:30 pm. Hopefully their free minutes didn't start at 9:00.

Capping it all off for the girls was their victory in the 4x400m relay. When you have the lead, and you hand off to Gabby Mayo and then to Ebonie Cunningham . . . well, just count on a victory. The girls won the meet with 65 points to runner-up Harding's 52. These two teams were the class of the field, as 3rd place was RJ Reynolds with 32.

The boy's didn't end the meet with a win in the 4x400, but their 2 points earned in the event added to their point total to give them a 41.50 team score. Providence HS, won the 4x400 out of one of the slower heats and actually jumped past both New Bern and West Charlotte to capture 2nd as a team. A huge meet for them! SE Raleigh's boys won the meet with people scoring all over the place. It was a great team effort.

Let's take a look first at how the boy's meet went down.
