Some of Tennessee's best and brightest track stars traveled to North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro to compete with the the best high school athletes in the nation.
Danielle Sampley ran just .02 seconds off of her PR in the 100H and .32 off her 200m time for this year.
Jenae Anderson ran a PR in the 100 of 12.06 an was just a little off of her best in the 200.
Jacquelyn Coward ran a 25.03 in the 200 and a 13.62 in the 100H for another state record and one of the top times in the nation.
Bianca Blair ran a 14.07 in the 100H and the fastest 400H in the state this year with a 63.71
Allie Scalf ran a big PR in the mile.Hannah Bowers ran in the 400 open and the Science Hill state champion 4x100 relay and runner up 4x400 relay teams competed as well.
The White Station super duo of Rita Jorgensen and Virginia Hine also competed. Rita in the mile and Virginia in the 800.
In the high jump Maryville's Ellen Wortham had a one inch PR clearing 5' 7" on her third attempt and Jessica Merriweather from Bartlett cleared 5' 5"
Finishing just .45 off of Jim Ailshie's (writes for this site on occasions) 800m state record and the fastest time in the state this year was James Gilreath.
Jay Oatts ran in the 110H and had a big PR in the 400H as well.
Long jumping and triple jumping from Kenwood was Maurice Grant.
Future Cavalier Eric Pickle competed in the shot put.
