@CoachGeorgeRJR I'm not saying it doesn't have the potential of being a great thing, but the title is "live updates". That just carries the connotation that the updates will be official & event by event and not just random tweets. I'm not try to offend, because I love the site. I just got a little frustrated trying to capture live results via something that said it would give "live results". I sincerely appreciate the site and the work that goes into making it what it is. I hope this feedback helps in a positive way.

@kvsmith95 I'm still not following you. The updates (note: the title was "Live Updates", not "Live Results") WERE official and they WERE event by event. I was at the meet sending out the official results live, as they happened (plus adding updates from Virginia Tech as their results were posted). If you didn't like the feature, I can understand and respect that. I target many different groups, and some favor one aspect of coverage over another. But perhaps you were looking for the live updates to be something that they were not intended to be (and, in fact, something that the Twitter format could never be). In the absence of sitting at my laptop all day (which would be impossible at JDL due to the lack of a public wireless signal), Twitter provides the best platform for instantaneous results. Perhaps in the future meet management will post live results event-by-event in much the same way that the Durham Striders do (which can be done through MileSplit, by the way), and that might fit your vision a little better.

In any case, I do value feedback that is presented politely, as yours has been. Thanks for that!

I find myself following the twitter updates even at the events I'm attending. I really like the addition to the traditional site. The updates, coupled with the awesome work by the live announcer, make recent events that more enjoyable. I certainly hope both features become the custom. I think as more spectators buy into the twitter feeds, you'll see more retweets and results/commentary showing up. Many thanks to all of you.

I must admit that I enjoyed working with Coach George yesterday at the JDL. I was having internet and 3G issues all day and his tireless efforts to keep me (and in turn, the crowd) updated on the happening at other venues made for a great day. Keep the tweets coming, Coach. By the way, next Saturday's meet is the only happening event on the calendar. If you have time, come on out to the JDL for another great day of track and field!
