MileSplit North Carolina

Can someone explain the results of the Area 7 national qualifier decathlon on 6/28 in Charlotte? The 2 participants in Young Mens category scored 6384 and 6139 points respectively. A great score for high schoolers.

It appears that the officials used triple jump instead of pole vault and calculated the points as if it was the vault... 37'04.75" for 3308 points and 27'06.75" for 2090 points. An oversight that drastically affecting the points scored in the event.

Am I interpreting this accurately?

If so, Since the results are not a true representation of the decathlon, should they be removed from the stats / ranking?

@jsanmiguel I had wondered about that, too. I think it's more likely that they entered the pole vault marks wrong (could have been 11' 4" instead of 11.40m?). I meant to contact the meet director, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
