Senior Spotlight: Cameron Hudson

The Berry Academy won't get the chance to add a 3A 200 title to his 2A title from last year, but he will impact the 3A meet.

I have a bold prediction to make: Cameron Hudson will get a lot better in college.  I can say that because he reveals in this interview that he has had only minimal weight training.  Given how central resistance training is to the success of sprinters in every college program that I know about, it looks like there is still a lot of room for Cameron to improve.  Considering he is already one of the best sprinter/jumpers in the state, that's saying a lot!  Cameron was also enjoyable to talk to, and he spoke on a wide range of topics, including his easy-going approach to races.  Relaxation is a big part of proper athletic performance, and this young man seems to be blessed with a natural gift for avoiding the tightness that comes with pressure or nerves.  Cameron will be affecting the NCHSAA 3A state meet tomorrow with both his presence (in the 100, long jump, and relays) and in his absence (in the 200, where a false start at the regional knocked him out of the playoffs).  Here is one other bold prediction: one of Berry's relays just got faster.
