KTS High School Invite, Good to North Carolina athletes

North Carolina athletes traveled to Johnson City, TN to race at East Tennessee University on Friday and Saturday. For many of the athletes and teams this trip proved to be very successful.

Here's a look at the NC athletes who won events this weekend:

* Miata Morlu, Providence Day, won the 400m dash in 56.53 - moves her to US #9

* Laura Hoer of TC Roberson won the girls 1-mile run in 5:21.02

* John Schilkowsky, Patton, ran 1:55.28 in the 800m - good for US #2

* Jack Klecker, Ardrey Kell, hit 4:29.72 in the boys 1-mile run for the win

* Charlie Klecker of AK won the 3000m unseeded race in 9:39.17

* Isaac Presson, Asheville, ran away from the field in the 3000 with a winning time of 8:51.68 - US #11

* Knightdale edged Ben L. Smith by .03 to win the 4x400 in 3:22.52 - moves them to US #3

* Jarrett Samuels of Vance hit 24-3.5 to win the long jump and set a new PR - now US #2

 . . . and those that finished in the runner-up spot:

* Providence Day's Varonica Johnson placed 2nd in the 200m dash with a time of 25.17 - US #17

* Samantha Sawyer was 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:25.01

* TC Roberson's Sarah Hope was 2nd in the 3000m run with a time of 11:21.89

* Isaac Presson of Asheville was 2nd to Schilkowsky in the 800 in 1:55.34, he did this out of the slowest heat due to be entered with a "NT" - US #3

* Ben Duval dropped a PR in the unseeded 1-mile run to finish 2nd overall on the day to Jack Klecker in 4:32.00

* Ben L. Smith was slightly behind Knightdale in the 4x400 in 3:22.55 - US #4
