Nick Scudder after a runner-up finish at Friday Night Lights
North Carolina's current state leader in Nick Scudder of Millbrook has announced his college commitment to UNC Charlotte.
A few weeks ago at Great American Scudder clocked the state lead as he kicked past Union Pines senior Ben Verchick where he ran a 12 second PR of 15:20. This week at his CAP 7 Conference Championship he won in 15:27 posting that fastest time of the conference weekend. Scudder will hope to bring home his first NCHSAA State Title this Cross Country season.
Scudder holds track PRs of 4:25 and 9:32, and has certainly taken his game to the next level on the cross country course this fall.
I chose to attend UNC Charlotte because both their cross country and engineering programs are on the rise. When I went on a visit the atmosphere was awesome and everyone made it clear they were there to get better and that is what I loved about the team. Also I was impressed by how serious studying and academics are taken.

Scudder will join Weddington's Jackson O'Hara and Franklin Academy's Caitlyn Burkett as members of the 49ers 2019 recruiting class.
